Mourning Dove 2-2-2012

Thursday morning I went to the Chickamauga Dam to make some pictures. I found a bird feeder there that I hadn’t noticed before. There were four Mourning Doves eating seeds on the feeder and another perched near the top of a small tree near by. As I approached, the four on the feeder flew away making that sound that Doves are famous for. The other Dove in the tree wasn’t as bothered by my approach. It was more interested in getting it’s turn on that bird feeder.

I made a couple of pictures of the Dove in the tree and then the Dove fluttered down to the feeder and I made this shot of the dove during that short falling flight.

We have Doves around our house and I often see them on our back porch but I have yet to make a decent photograph of one.

Thanks for visiting my blog!
